About Me

Drake Collins is a passionate advocate, educator, and speaker on queer and sexual health issues, with more than 20 years of experience. His mission is to empower individuals to explore and experience pleasure in a healthy, safe, and fulfilling way, and he aims to provide evidence-based information, resources, and support to help people achieve their ideal sex lives, free from shame or stigma.

As the Preventive Health Services Associate Manager at an LGBT-centered medical home in metropolitan Detroit, Drake has been focusing specifically on HIV prevention for the last 3 years. He created the Power Over HIV campaign, a marketing campaign to address stigma and offer a status-neutral message to HIV prevention, showing how regardless of status, everyone has the power to contribute to stopping the spread of HIV. This campaign won second place at the Preppy Awards at the NMAC Biomedical HIV Prevention Conference in 2022.

Drake has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, with a certificate in LGBT studies, and is a registered Community Health Worker with the Michigan Community Health Workers Association (MICHWA). He has spoken on and facilitated panels on a range of topics, including HIV, sexual health, prevention, PrEP and PEP, harm reduction, kink/BDSM, polyamory and consensual nonmonogamy. He has presented at the Biomedical HIV Prevention conference, the State Of Michigan HIV/STI Conference, Wayne State University, Michigan State University, and Kent State University.

In 2023, Drake launched Fearless Sex, a multimedia platform to provide sexual health education to the public based on the current scientific research. He is committed to using his expertise to create positive change and improve the lives of those in his community and beyond.
